Default Guild Wars:Forgotten Seas

Guild Wars:Forgotten Seas

Dear all readers: I'm a very determined Guild Wars gamer. Every time a new Guild Wars comes out, I feel the need to get it (I have all three). Now without further ado here is my idea - Guild Wars:Forgotten Seas.

The idea here is based on the Carribean, and yes it includes pirates, giant sea monsters, islands, good loot and treasure, and maybe the undead. Not really decided because I like Pirates of the Carribean but i hate knock offs.

I have an idea of 3 new Professions, weapons, main quest story-line idea, enemies, pets, city and the whole new campaign name and area name (meaning Kryta, Cantha, and Elona). Skills include elite skills, bosses, unique items, 3 new pvp games maybe including a new alliance battle type, new guild halls, and more.

Now listen, if you think my idea is a dud, well so be it... but if it's not I'd like to know and I will post more on this and give more detail on the next post. I wanted to give you a rough idea first - I've been thinking and writing about this idea for a while now. So tell me what you think. Sincerely, Aidan

Dont base this on a game idea base it as a....location update and or small expansion. I love the idea of the forgotten seas, and my favorite part would be the sites cool breezes, the light oceans....ya.... well bring us more information soon and try to talk about ships id love to hear what ideas you got on that.....dont be crazy though....

Its pretty good, just not something that is different from the line of thinking of everyone else who suggested a new place. Still good though, keep posting.

But anyhow.. sure.. we love to hear your ideas, thats what the suggestion fourm are for. And a Carribean Pirate theme idea is well love by most people too. And new and fun features is always a welcome.

Of couse, be sure you can stand up to critics thought.

Sounds cool... (kind of)

I'm sure everyone would want to fight a Kraken! But that was already done in factions for the boreas seapord...

A pirate theme has been suggested before a couple of times so this isn't really anything new. And given your scope of things, as mentioned, it's not enough for a new campaign. A region is more likely. But keep working on those creative vibes and expand your ideas.

ok i decided togive you a some on my pvp idea nextime ill tell youthe professions but 2 new pvp ideas are for the forgotten seas 1 is assault the ship your guild or a group of friends is on your teams ship and you have cannons and someone can steerthe ship and such so like a lot ofthe things are interactive you have cannons on your ship andthe point would be to destroy your enemys ship or kill the captain thats how you would win and the captain is in his like main area like captains corridorsors or whatever and you haveto go from these stairs that are onthis ship that lead into the ship deeper and you fight off other pvp characters to get to the captain and if you kill him you win and likethe spawn point for any team is its sotrage deck so youcan win the way by killing the captain or this was destroy the ship with cannons they are just as simple as seige weapons one click and they fire only you use the gun power barrels by clicking them and bringing them to the cannon and clicking on the cannon and it fills her up andthen you click again and boom! The ship has a certain amount of life or main points to destroy which might take three or 4 cannon clicks and you can steer your ship away from the other to avoid fire and avoid getting enemy on ship. also for guild assault ship you have to buy and customize your ship and its looks and cannons and colors etc. but if you dont want to pay for it then you can do the random group version for free kinda like random arenas.

the 2nd one is capture the treasure , each team gets a map and it leads to the x and you have shovel and you and your teamgets there and digs upthe treasure but you risk this ifyou lose your shovel carrier your whole team respawns back at your ship and you can kill people on other teamsto make it easier then when yougetthe chest/treasure you take it to you ship captain or guild leader or ship you win it doest have to be just1 treasure to win itcan be to a set amount whatever.

the 3rd on im still think about but someone said to bad we cant fight the krakken hey whos to say he isnt dead or he didn thave babys and i have a rough idea on the last mission of the game its 4 parts but you have the 2nd part the krakken assaults your ship and you must defendit and it has to be hard and classicly no henchies. Ok next time ill talk about skills and professions should betomorow!

So.. uhmm... what is a "." and a "," ?

Just teasing you.. but proper language does help in communicating your ideas (of couse, me no a one too talkings) I think grammer is not important on a fourm, but it does help some to read.

The Ship assult idea sounds fun.. just don't let BK hear about it.

Capture treasure sound okie (as I think most people will just go with killing, which turn it into regular PvP) I think could be better if made into a PvPvE type of challenge mission.

Krakken did made its appearence in Faction. But more Tenticle fun couldn't hurt.

For new proffessions, would also suggest looking in at the Concept class fourm to see how other suggest such thing (and the Dos and Don'ts). Could also post there, and put a link in this thread.

Hope to hear more ideas, and better sentence structures.

When I first read it I didn't really like the idea.. decided not to post a reply.. But when I thought about it, the idea doesn't really sound bad.. I kinda like it
I see you put a lot of effort into creating a world with new concepts, new ideas.. and that is something I always welcome with open arms! Well, even if only one of the suggested features made it into a real GW game (or any game for that matter) I would not mind playing it, it sounds fun
Keep thinking up stuff, post it when you feel the need. And we are quite curious about the new professions you had in mind man, let us know what you came up with

Ok here is this dibs on the 2 Professions the first one is Pirate of courseit has one skill that you dont have to equip all the time. The Pirates can open chests without keys except one thing if its on a mission or some special reason then they'll need key. ok hereare 4 the four atributes first the main attribute that you get is call Captain's Code this attribute is how well you do with team or how well you follow the captains order which adds to the dmg. of all your attacks. Next Dueling- kinda like sword mastery but they are dueling swords back in the pirate age it boosts your effectiveness of dueling skills which you can only do with equipped a sword or a pistol/gun, yes, i know what your thinking ehhh gun yuck well not really most of us think boom! your dead not in GW it does the same damage as as spells and arrows cause remember bullets in pirate time were like bbs.next attribute we have is Corruption this is my favorite you know how the Dervish can turn into Melandru and dwayna well the pirates can turn into the undead and corupted sea creature pirates mabey its kinda what happens to them from a curse or if they are ghost pirates. so like you can turn in to a skeleton pirate which is your pirates customized look turned into a skeleton with ripped clothes and skull face etc. the last attribute would be dirty tricks which would be the things pirates do best interupta battle or inthis case a skill wether it's spitting in the face knocking away the enemys weapon puting sand in the enemys face! Hey what can they say they are Pirates .

Ok now the Second Profession would be called Voodoo Priest/Witch doctort these would be good for pvpthey counter necros and most of all Ritualist the four attributes the main one you get if you are a voodoo priest/witch doctor you getthis Ojun ( by the way Voodoo priest/witch doctor means i havent decided on the name yet) anyway Ojun was a voodoo priest back in the caribeans that helped the slaves and such, but Ojun would boost the power of countering spells and attack damage, the second attribute call the wind where you can summon storms to destroy your enemy and slow there speed and effect them with blindness or summon the sea's power, the third would be voodoo where you could posibly control your enemys body put pins in the voodoo idol or control the enemy to attack his teamate for a matter of seaconds . the last attribute is spirit ward you can send spirits to the grave and menions back to..well you know where or you can possibly make that spirit attack its master or when you terminate the spirit it give the master damage or the team damage.Ichose vood priest/witch doctor because back then they would have people to clense the ship free of spirits and who did it the vood doo guy thats who.

Ok those are the two prosessions for this game next i will tell the core spells for them and more core spells to add to the regular professions. If you want this keep posting!

man you are a really big fan pirate of the carribean.i like your suggestion.very cool class,i like the gun.

can i add 1 thing(you can suggest if you like or not).ok,ill suggest we make some or many island.then, players can go to the island and own it.the players must be in a team to go to the islands.if two teams meet at the same island, the two teams must battle until the the other team loss.the owner can renovate the island to become a city and can name the city.ok,this is my suggestion.hope you like it.

As already mentioned, to get more response, you need to clean up your posts more. It's definitely not an easy read.

Anyway, I thought you don't like knock offs? Your two professions are so obviously inspired by the movie they feel boring.

Your Pirate feels like a Warrior + Paragon + Dervish, which is kinda ok, but certain things are not good. I won't complain about the flavour of the names you chose, since that's easily fixed, but the mechanics are a real problem.

Captain's Code is a permanent boost to damage to all within range? Overpowered. Guns that pirates use are weak? Ever tried shooting that small round ball of iron into your body? Dueling is too similar to Swordsmanship. Corruption is too narrow in scope. The Dervish avatars are just 5 skills. And ... an attribute for dirty tricks? Possible I suppose, though might be too narrow in scope as well.

For your Witch Doctor... it's even more narrow in scope. It's specifically to counter Necros and Rits? Why? Rits aren't even core.

Ojun... boosts countering spells? What are countering spells? And here's another attribute that boosts damage? Wind power? Err... we have Air Magic and Wind Prayers already... Voodoo sounds really interesting, maybe a special kind of hex spell. Spirit ward is too narrow. It's useless if there aren't any MM or spirit Rits around...

And finally, you need to go look up what voodoo is. They're not for cleansing a ship free of spirits...

True they are a narrow scope but to say the least its a caribean game you got to have pirate if not maybe smugler but for the most part voodoo i just thought was like you know what we thought was voodoo but maybe if someone would like to fix it for me hey i wouldnt mine!

Honestly, Luxon content was very piratey, the only real difference was that the sea turned to Jade, otherwise they are as pirate as pirate can be. And Corsairs are quite the pirates themselves, Nightfall has pirates.

I find it rather narrow to cannonize a chapter as the pirates of the carribean type theme, as any chapter deserves a strong serving of diversity. Thus a Sea chapter will obviously have much to do with Pirates, but just as much with any, hopefully many other forms of Marine settings, Naval, Exploration, Discovery. The overall theme of the chapter should be way more elaborate than pirates.

Beyond that, it would be nice to have a less typical, more unique scope on a Sea based chapter, Atlantis type theme is far better IMO, Japanese and Spanish type Conqueror cultures are far more attractive as well. I find Pirate themes to be a very common place and less spectacular theme than most.
